B’nai B’rith Convention 2017 Has Been Successfully Brought to an End

On November 1, 2017, the 2017 B'nai B'rith International Leadership Forum/B'nai B'rith Europe Convention titled “Jewish Communities and Western Democracies: What´s the Future?“, co-organized by KEYNOTE, successfully ended in Prague.

The conference, which had began on October 29, 2017 with a boat cruise on the Vltava River, consisted mainly of a series of educational panel discussions, which challenged attendees to consider many angles on important topics, such as the future of minority communities in western societies, anti-Semitism in Europe, terrorism and radicalization in Europe, the stance of Israel on the global stage, or the importance of including younger generations into the leadership. The leadership forum was led by B’nai B’rith International President Gary P. Saltzman and the CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin, as well as B'nai B'rith Renaissance Prague President Tomas Kraus and outgoing B'nai B'rith Europe President Daniel Citone, who passed his mandate to the newly elected Serge Dahan during the conference.

The conference was attended by many distinguished speakers, including European Commissioner for Justice, Consumer Protection and Gender Equality Věra Jourová; the Coordinator of the European Commission on Combating Anti-Semitism Katharina von Schnurbein, Czech Republic Minister of Culture Daniel Herman; former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg; Czech Republic Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Michaela Marksova; Director of the Transatlantic Relations Center and member of the Board of Directors of the 2000 Foundation Alexandr Vondra; and Director of the Institute of Empirical Research STEM and Presidential Candidate Pavel Fischer. The B’nai B’rith leadership forum concluded with a gala dinner and musical performance at the prestigious premises of Rudolfinum.
